People have been injured and many, many lives have been lost. The UK public has raised an incredible £400 million for the DEC Ukraine Humanitarian Appeal, reaching millions of people affected by the conflict. We would like to thank all our customers who have donated to the appeal via the Kwik Fit website. The DEC Ukraine Humanitarian Appeal has received an incredible £400 million in donations from the UK public, reaching millions of people affected by the conflict. We would like to thank all our customers who have joined us in donating to the appeal via the Kwik Fit website.
The crisis in Ukraine is a year old and at every stage - from the initial wave of refugees to the recent targeting of Ukraine’s power grid - DEC charities and their local partners have been supporting people affected. The funds donated by the UK public have been used to respond to the most urgent needs - providing food, medical supplies, clean water, accommodation, generators and direct cash payments. They are also helping children continue their education, providing mental health support and keeping vulnerable people safe.
The generous response of UK donors to the conflict in Ukraine has made the Disasters Emergency Committee the biggest charity donor to the response, according to the UN. Donations are making a real difference on the ground and will continue to help people affected by the conflict over the next two years as new challenges arise and needs continue to change. Thank you to all those customers who have helped by donating via the Kwik Fit website. You can find out more about the impact of your donations at dec.org.uk/Ukraine.
